We contracted Dean & Windsor Developments to undertake a considerable structural job which involved the removal of 4 internal walls and a main load baring external wall as well as the building of a new extension.

Naturally, we were pretty anxious about getting such considerable work done - particularly as our building is over 100 years old - however, from the first meeting with Dean he managed to alleviated our concerns by talking us through the plan, showing us his previous work and answering all of our questions.

One of the main reasons we went with Dean over other tendered parties was because he offered a single point of contact for all trades, scheduling and materials (we both work full time so had no interest in trying to manage the job ourselves). This route for me was so worthwhile as it meant Dean would liaise directly with the team, our architect and structural engineer to get any items closed out independently of us.

The team were excellent throughout the work and did everything from destruct & building to re-wiring & plumbing. Everything required to take the job from destruct to fully finished was managed through Dean.
In particular, there was a number of times where the team provided suggestions or another option which was better than the original design and made a fundamental impact to the finish of our project.

The truth is that there will always be unexpected situations on a job of this size, and ours was no exception. Something doesn’t go to plan or a complication is found after work commences, and the really important thing is to have a team which you know will be able to consider and resolve the situation without fuss no matter what it is.

It’s relatively easy to find someone that can build something as per a plan.. but it’s not easy to find someone who can adapt, improve and execute plans in the best interest of the client.. which Dean and his guys do best.
